The Nation's Greatest Lost

Deepest condolences to the Nation’s greatest lost, RIP King Norodom Sihanouk.

Chinese police escorted Cambodia’s former King Norodom Sihanouk’s body from a Beijing hospital to the airport Wednesday, October 17th, 2012, morning for its return to Phnom Penh, where tens of thousands are expected to line a mourning route. King Norodom Sihanouk’s body will remain in the palace for three months, during which time the public can pay respects before it is cremated according to Buddhist ritual. Though, I am not in the country, the sorrow shed and I felt the heart ache as the beloved former king had passed. 

There's no party that never end. And this is the end of his journey, life goes on and another to begin.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. [Psalm 34:18].

Cambodia 2010 Trip

From the recent incident, I went through all my photos just to make sure I didn't lost any or which is lost shall be remarked.

And I noticed I have not been putting much effort on photography at all in 2011, reluctantly, I just keep it gather dust.

Below are few selected photos from my trip back in November 2010, and I was in the mood of black and white mode.

It was the tragic news hits me the yesterday night. I first was told around 17 people were killed during the stampede crowed in Phnom Penh on the last day of Water Festival.
We pray for those who survived in the hospital and hope they will be ok.

Not long afterward, I received an update from a friend who keep his eyes on the news that hundreds were killed. We were all in shock and couldn't believe what we have heard.

At this morning, around 7 to 8am, the number of death keeps increasing. This would be one of the biggest tragedy that hits the whole nation.

May those who lost their live would rest in peace, May those who still survive could live.

Happy Khmer New Year 2010

Alrighty, I'm a bit late but not too late because today is the third day of Khmer New Year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all my fellow families and all friend a very happy new year and may you have a great year ahead.

Kravanh Restaurant

Went to have dinner at Kravanh Restaurant in Phnom Penh. It was superb.
The food was fabulously delicious. The environment is cozy and awesome. And yes, it was incredibly pricey as well. Ah well, it's worth to try after all.

Chinese New Year - Feb 2010

Since I started to work in Malaysia, either I couldn't make it for Chinese New Year celebration or I will be there for working and holidays. A little bit different, this year I took leave to join my family CNY celebration.
Return home a day before the festive kicked in, met up with relatives and help mom to prepare the praying.
Our tradition, we pray on the day before the 1st day of CNY. In the morning, we all will get up really early to cook many dishes and prepared for the festive. There will be fruits, cakes, flowers, drinks, paper money, many dishes of home cook food and etc.

Some family pray in the afternoon some in the evening. The praying time is depend on the different type of God they believe in.

























Just before the josticks are burnt out, the paper money will be burn and the belief is that you're not supposed to say hot while burning the papers and all the papers must be all burn out and not torn apart.
After everything is done, all the relatives will have lunch together just like Open house in Malaysia or other places that I might know of.

3rd trip to Cambodia of the year

*blurk* I have so many posts to update O.o||
I've been away for about two weeks, spent 10 days in Cambodia and 3 days in Singapore.
It was the awesome and sort of wake up trips after all.

Let me show you some randoms photo while I was in Cambodia. Oh btw, I was there for working, not holidays... how sad. But I managed to spend time with family during the weekend.

It was considered another tight deadline and busiest trip I've ever had.
Let me tell you why is it a wake up call trip...
Normally when I was back home, my family or relatives will ask the following questions

Are you dating?
When are you going to get married?
Are you coming back here?
etc.

But this time, they add one more question

When are you buying a house?

O.o|| waloa... I was really like ermmmm...when? I also don't know. How?
Am I really that old or what do they call the right age to start think of this bit commitment?
Now I have to work my buttom off to be able to answer all such questions or be able to just do it at any point of time... >_<" wish me luck...

Apparently, they fill up the 1 L bottle with petrol and they sell to you in slightly cheaper price from the station....

sugar can stall, price from Riel 500 to Riel 1,000 (equivalent to RM 0.50 to RM 1)

I noticed this... there are volunteers (not sure from which organization) stand at the road side and guide the driver not to stop over the yellow line....

From this you can conclude 2 things: 1) the volunteers are really nice people. 2) the local people never obey the law/rule... (borrow Suhana's word) so uncivilized...

Don't be surprise if you saw any bikers dress in uniform and following big/nice car...they are just the bodyguards...-___-"

I was told that this construction building is supposed to be a 42 floor twin tower O.o but somehow there is an issue with the project...so it kinda got stuck like this couple of months already....
