Pahang: Deer Land and Elephant Sanctuary

I've been to Deer Land and Elephant Sanctuary for a month and now only have time to filter the pictures -__-"

warning: there are tons of photo here...

Discover the nature and wild lives at your nearest area :)
To get there is not hard though [well at least we were not lost]. It is 2 hours away from Kuala Lumpur. Take the Lanchang toll exit, and look for the signs to the place.

Elephant Sanctuary

Welcome welcome

I come in peace

but she comes as a miss universe haha

Get the sticker as a Visitor

The color of the stickers represent differently.
The light blue and yellow one is for the first 150 visitors [you may book in advance] gotto join the three activities with the elephants.
  1. Feeding
  2. Riding
  3. Bathing
These two colors also slightly different activity but can't really remember :D

And the red color is for normal visitor, only view no touching hahaha

Big skull

Let's take a look outside

They place the elephants separately, those are still young and wild at one place and those already being trained at another.

Young and wild [probably rescue from the wood]

Electric sign

Elephants

Live petting

Hmmm I'm not a super pet lover, I'm also not a pet pro. But been at the elephant sanctuary for only few hours I didn't feel like they treat all the elephants right.

Did you notice the activities that I mentioned earlier? Yeah, imagine there are hundreds of visitors and only one or two of the trained elephants are allowed to be in the activities. Especially the bathing, ONE elephant [the oldest one] has to bring 4 visitors from the yard to the middle of the pond and dump them in, and repeat the loop till finish all the visitor that wanted to bath with elephants [well at least the so-called first 150 visitors]. And this will continue everyday??

Do you think this is the way it work?

I felt like I was at the circus! Somebody has to do something.
I did my part by letting you know that this is shouldn't be the way it works.
